Since July 2023, Jana Huber has been coordinating the Pediatric Shared Decision Making (PedSDM) project funded by the Innovation Fund as a research assistant. For the first time in Germany, the project is surveying which factors are relevant for the successful participation of chronically ill children, adolescents and parents in routine paediatric care. In addition to a presentation of the evidence base on participation and SDM, the research group examines and systematically evaluates experience gained to date, existing knowledge as well as barriers and support factors. From the results, the researchers derive context-sensitive recommendations that should contribute to strengthening participation and SDM in paediatric care. Previously, Jana Huber worked as a research assistant (2021 - 2023) at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt in the BMBF-funded MobiStar project (Mobilisation of Intensive Care Patients by a New Standard in Adaptive Robotics) and was involved in the integration of a robotic system for the early mobilisation of patients in intensive care units.
Jana Huber is a state-certified health and paediatric nurse with many years of professional experience in neonatal and paediatric intensive care. In addition to her studies, she first worked in the neonatal intensive care unit at Heidelberg University Hospital (2013 - 2020) and then in the interdisciplinary paediatric intensive care unit. After studying Interprofessional Health Care (B. Sc.) part-time at the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg, she completed the Master's programme in Applied Health Care Research (M. Sc.) in Munich.
