Alina Heinemann

Alina Heinemann has been a medical student at the Mannheim Medical Faculty of Heidelberg University since the summer semester of 2023. She successfully passed the first part of the medical examination (M1) in the summer of 2025 and is currently continuing her studies in the clinical phase.

In January 2026, she began her work as a doctoral candidate at the Mannheim Institute for Public Health in the Department of Sport and Health. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. phil. Schneider, her doctoral research focuses on the health consequences of rapid weight loss (rapid weight cutting) in combat sports, as well as the development of preventive measures to reduce these risks.

In addition to her studies, she is actively involved in organizing Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments and is also ambitiously pursuing her own athletic goals as a competitor.
