Dr. Birgit Kramer

Birgit Kramer studied economics and worked initially in the fields of public service and administration, management, project planning and personnel management. In 2004, she switched to gerontological research during a stay abroad in Cambridge, USA, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at MIT AgeLab. After her return from the US, she completed her doctorate on the topic of " Caring Relatives' Acceptance of New Technologies for People with Dementia" at the Netzwerk Alternsforschung (NAR) in Heidelberg, funded by the Klaus Tschira Foundation.

Dr. Birgit Kramer has headed the office in the Competence Network Preventive Medicine, Baden-Württemberg (www.knpm-bw.de/) since April 2021.

Since August 2022, she has also been responsible for science management in the Department of Public Health, Social and Preventive Medicine. In this role, she supports the department's strategy development as well as the development and implementation of sustainable and innovative prevention strategies and coordinates communication and collaboration with scientists both internally and with external stakeholders and partners.
