GRK 2727 students obtain additional valuable input to their thesis projects during lab-visits, workshops and joint thesis advisory committee (TAC) meetings with pioneers in the field of innate immunity from the Karolinska Institute (KI) in Stockholm and from Vienna University. The Karolinska Institute has a long history of pioneering the field of NK cell research. In Stockholm, GRK 2727 collaborates with the educational program of Cancer Research at KI (https://ki.se/en/cancerresearchki/cancer-research-ki-research-training). In Vienna, Prof. Veronika Sexl/Prof. Mathias Müller/Dr. Dagmar Gotthardt coordinate the collaborations providing complimentary expertise in both myeloid cell and NK cell signal transduction. Several of the Vienna collaborators are members of the Vienna JAK/STAT Consortium (https://jak-stat.at/ FWF-funded; spokesperson Prof. Mathias Müller).
