Samira Barbara Jabakhanji, Dr. phil.

Dr. (phil.) Samira Barbara Jabakhanji arbeitet als Postdoktorandin in der Abteilung für Public Health, Sozial- und Präventivmedizin an der Medizinischen Fakultät Mannheim der Universität Heidelberg. Zuvor studierte sie an der Universität Maastricht European Public Health (BSc) und Healthcare Policy, Innovation and Management (MSc) und sammelte als Juniorpolitikberaterin bei Emric+ in Maastricht erste Forschungserfahrung, bevor sie an der Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland University of Medicine and Health Sciences promovierte und dort in den Bereichen Epidemiologie und Gesundheitsökonomie arbeitete.

Samira Jabakhanjis Schwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen Planetare Gesundheit und Nachhaltigkeit, sowie Adipositas im frühen Kindesalter. Im Zusammenhang ihrer Adipositas-Forschung war Samira Jabakhanji mehrere Jahre Mitglied des Forschungsausschusses der Association for the Study of Obesity on the Island of Ireland und hat das internationale Simulationsmodelle-Netzwerk Obesity Cobweb (COllaBoration in health economic modelling of overWEight and oBesity) mitgegründet. In Letzterem ist sie ernannte Schriftführerin und arbeitet gemeinsam mit der Leiterin Prof. Diana Sonntag aus der Abteilung für Allgemeinmedizin.

Weitere Studienerfahrung bringt Samira Jabakhanji in den Bereichen der grenzüberschreitenden Notfallversorgung, Qualitätsverbesserung von Gesundheitsdiensten und Kostenanalysen von Interventionsstudien mit. Sie hat qualitative, quantitative und gesundheitsökonomische Forschungserfahrung und wirkt gerne an Literaturstudien mit.
